Who is coming?

A friend asked me to join her to go to hear Joan Bakewell speak this evening, as part of the Sherborne Abbey Festival. Two chairs, two bottles of water and a table on a high stage awaited our guest, as the hall filled up to capacity.
She came from behind the curtain with a beaming smile, and was a very erudite, bright, sensible and interesting speaker, not surprisingly! Joan told us something about her work in the House of Lords, and spends a considerable amount of time there each week. Now a young looking 80, she advised that people should take up a new job at each decade of their lives - so food for thought!
