Final and Fifteen

The lake this evening was 15 degrees. 3 of us went in (from our open water swimming group) and without wetsuits - but maybe for the final time this year. Next lake swim, which I think is in 2 weeks time, I’m taking my wetsuit. :-)

At 15 degrees, the ‘shock’ getting in was still ok. In fact, it was head, face, feet and hands that ached with the cold. Face down into the water was do-able but when you brought your face out, it throbbed! Eek. It took quite a while to warm back up.

It’s also the final time we got our favourite life-guard. She has a job at a lido where we regularly swim and will be swimming through the winter months.
