Baking Bairns

Katie and Gordon made cookies this afternoon. It was a decent recipe we've used before from the Usborne "Farmyard Tales Children's Cookbook", but we adapted it to make double chocolate cookies. Yum!

Egg-celent.

Here's our adapted recipe.

Oven 180C. Greased greaseproof paper on a tin.
100g softened butter, 100g caster sugar: beat together.
1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence: beat together. Mix into the buttery stuff.
25g cocoa, 150g plain flour: sieve into the mixture and mix through. This is fairly hard work, add a tiny bit of milk if you need to. We did.
100g plain chocolate chips: 1 each to test for poison, then mix the rest through.
Make 10 biscuits of 50g each - just squidge them onto the greaseproof paper.
We did 2 batches of 5 because our tray was a bit small.
They're ready after 15 mins in the oven and a minute on a wire rack. Lovely still warm.

They probably keep for more than 2 minutes, but we wouldn't know about that ;)

Rubbish weather by the way.
