Tiny Shadow

I have a tiny vase from Bali which is on my desk shelf with thyme in it from some previous Blipfoto project. The sun was streaming in through the office window so I put a big sheet of watercolor paper over all the quilt bits and pieces scattered on the worktable, set the tiny vase on it and voilà, blip done for today. Thanks to MaryElizaR for hosting the challenge this month.

I skipped PIlates yesterday because of Lindsay's visit, so I joined John on the floor in the office for a Zoom session. The guys were here shoveling dirt back into the hole where the lemon tree was when we dashed off to Costco where we had an appointment for Covid boosters and flu shots. I had my first Pfizer dose and felt almost immediately lightheaded, but managed to navigate the huge premisses, or at least half of them, by leaning on the cart and pushing it around. I could almost have believed I was delirious when we passed the large Christmas display had I not known that they always put that stuff out long before Halloween.

I made another batch of hot pepper relish before lying down and falling almost immediately asleep...I almost never take a nap, but today it felt good. A huge bowl of peppers produced only about two pints of relish once they were chopped and cooked. I would have preferred half pint jars but couldn't find any so I wound up with just two pint jars.

At least we can get these open without pliers....

John is going to get dirt from one of the dirt piles surrounding us to finish filling the hole by the front door, then will top it all off with a fine gravel. I have visions of a Zen garden, but don't have a cool looking rake to rake in beautiful patterns around the rocks.

I've put pictures of the lemon tree's journey in extras. We'll be able to keep an eye on it  and keep it well watered as it is right outside the bedroom door. I think it looks much more at home where it is now.

Tomorrow is another fun trip to the dermatologist. I have what I am certain is a squamous cell carcinoma on the back of my knee. My usual dermatologist is out of the office and I couldn't get an appointment with her until November, so I will be seeing her husband who is also a dermatologist and shares the office with her.
