New Insignia
King Charles III has his own insignia, as announced on this morning's news. This will appear on such items as post boxes.
However, there is a different design for use in Scotland (that on the right and thumbnail) in particular that of the crown. Scotland has its own Crown Jewels, called The Honours of Scotland, it was this placed on the coffin when her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was lying at rest in St Giles, not King Edward's crown that adorned her coffin for the funeral and which appears on the insignia for the rest of the country.
The extra photo is from our U3A Science visit to the Millerhill Recycling and Energy Recovery Centre, where general waste is incinerated to produce electrical energy via steam-generated turbine. Metals are recovered, waste gases are treated to prevent escape into the atmosphere. Photo through the observation hatch of the incinerator incinerating with a great deal of heat.
