Shifting the Flowers
I got a tip off that the shire horses were coming in to The Green Park today to start on the task of removing the remembrance flowers. I hadn't realised the scale of what was involved. The part of the park allocated for laying flowers in remembrance of the Queen is about the size of a football pitch.
Heath and Nobby waited patiently for an hour while the flowers were gathered and loaded into the trailer. Then they plodded off to Kensington Gardens where the vegetation was composted.
It's a big job that is going to take days.
