The beach back blip

When the mimosa trees bloom it gives the beaches a tropical look. I really like it and the bees and hummers love them. They are beautiful but are very messy. They only live about 20 years and are considered a weed tree. They grow very fast and have soft wood. They drop sticks, leaves that are impossible to rake, flowers that stick to the sand and seed pods that simply sprout everywhere. This tree is dying. We will cut it down this winter. Not to worry I have several potted up for just this reason. Hubby is the one who wants to keep them growing...they are not worth all the work they require to me.
