Brighton

Any excuse for a visit to the seaside also coincided with celebrating Rebecca’s birthday that was last Thursday.  Sim had already said he would be working and Nat was going to come with Oscar but he’s still under the weather and they are not having great nights with him at the mo. Bless him!

Anyway we arranged to get to Brighton for around 11ish and just as we drove into town we realised Josh, Natalie and Rebecca were in front of us.  Once we found a not too overpriced parking bay we set off along the promenade (where I took this shot) and headed towards the pier.  Hot doughnuts were purchased by the kids.  We then hit the arcade. Playing the 2p machines.  Mr C always tries to grab a teddy and eventually one an Eeyore for O.  Rebecca has always loved Eeyore since she was small (we still have a mug in the cupboard for when she comes over) and was delighted when she managed to win one too.

We then wandered off to the laines for a lovely wander around.  After coffee Mr C and Josh headed off to their cars to move as the tickets were running out.  Mr C had been given a ticket.  He has proof on his phone that he bought a ticket so fingers crossed the appeal will be accepted.  We had another wander around the Laines on their return before heading off to a fish and chip shop right on the beach.  It was pretty chilly by now but it was lovely sitting out eating the delicious grub by the sea.

Josh suggested another walk along the pier before heading home and of course they headed for the arcade and more teddy grabbing :-D. Both Rebecca and Lucy were lucky this time winning a Winnie the Pooh and Nana from lion king.  We walked right to the end of the pier this time watching people on some of the rides. The sun was starting to set and there was a funny little rainbow in the sky.

A long walk back to the car.  Why does it always seem longer on the way back.  Home about 8:30 but a very enjoyable day with the family and over 16,000 steps for me.

Lots of extra collages
