Has It Really Been A Year?
It was a special Sunday for us at FBC! Actually, I think that every Sunday is special because we get to come to church, we get to join with our forever family of believers raising our hearts and voices in praise and worship, and we get to welcome new people into our facilities. This morning, in particular, we were blessed by our choir, orchestra and various other talented accompanists doing "Hold On To The Rock". After that, Pastor Wes took us to James 1:22-25 to caution us against being just hearers of the Word and not doers of the Word. Those who are merely hearers of the Word are like those who look into a mirror, see what they actually look like and then forget the whole picture the moment they turn away. They may have seen something that needed changing, but they have forgotten what they saw as soon as they are not looking right at it anymore, much like the person who comes to church and has a great experience, but walks out without having any experienced any change in his life. The doer of the Word, on the other hand, does not look at the mirror and his own reflection, but looks intently at the perfect Law of liberty which was brought to completion by Christ Jesus to set us free from sin and death. To find out what all that entails, watch Pastor Wes on the Live-stream. It will be worth your time. At the end of the service, we welcomed a new member and celebrated one year(hopefully, the first of many) of being blessed by the ministry of Pastor Wes and his wife, Bethany. I think that, all in all, it was a pretty special day at FBC. Hope you were there to be a part of it and enjoy it with us!
