The sky in the river

I'm reading The Cloudspotter's Guide at the moment, which is both entertaining and informative, but I haven't got fair enough to find out what these clouds are properly called - they look quite a bit like ice floes in the sea would if viewed from a plane, and today they combined with the pattern of turbulence on the surface of river in a good way..
