Sheffield City Tour
A trip down memory lane today. I lived in Sheffield as a child, age 7-14, and then I studied history at the University there, Today we wandered round with my University friend Carol, who has lived in the city all her life, and is a font of knowledge.
We wandered through the Peace Gardens, took in (all too briefly) the Festival of the Mind, and the Spiegeltent, but it was in the Cathedral that something touched me today. A fascinating conversation with the preceptor (I only discovered the word last week! ) led me to an ahah moment. Sheffield, like Harrogate feels, for me, like home. Threads to the ancestors in both these places too.
Anyway back to the Cathedral, I don’t remember going in before, but perhaps I have. Wonderful Peace Doves installation

We could surely do with those peace doves working some magic right now
- Then we had a jolly nice lunch before heading home.
I have backblipped yesterdays post if you have time
Hope your weekend has been a good one
