Horse Chestnut
Cleaning, hoovering,
walking, cooking, tidying,
gently relaxing.
Quiet day again. Ben went for a walk with Mr KCNQ2Haiku early this morning, I had a bit of a lie down and then thought I'd do some cleaning before I got dressed. Ben was very amused when he came back from his walk, "Why are you hoovering in your pyjamas?!" Well frankly, why not!!
Prepared salad, had another walk, cooked lunch, ate lunch. You get there idea of it being a slow news day.
Had a nice walk in the woods this afternoon, it's getting properly autumnal. This photo was from under the trees looking up at the sky, just a bit of fun.
We usually end up by the river and it was more eventful than usual today as there was a bunch of kayakers (collective noun for kayakers, anyone?? A clobber of kayakers; a splash of kayakers; a coincidence of kayakers... ) Just to set the scene.. along the river there's a little weir type thing and a useful bench for viewing riverly drama. Most of the kayaks made it down the weir with merely a blood curdling shriek but one of them got stuck on a rock, necessitating rescue from a more experienced looking 'instructor type' person who happened to be in a double kayak. The ensuing rescue involved turning around and trying to paddle upstream; capsizing; rescuing the passenger; swimming both passenger and kayak to the safety of the bank; swimming back to the weir to unstick the original kayak and then swim back to his own kayak for re-entry and onward journey. I took some pictures in the early stages but then retreated to the viewing bench when it seemed it was going badly. Ben was sitting nicely and said to me, sombrely, "it's rude to stare, you know." It really made me laugh. Bless him, he was very right but in my defence, they were all giggling and it was clearly 'broadly' under control the entire time. Anyway, that was the most interesting thing today.
