Sole purpose of visit…

The reason we’re in Margate is that it’s a good meeting place for Rory who lives in Whitstable, when not away filming and for B and family by train.

 Also Daisy.

Daisy is the new venture of a friend of B’s, a web designer whose brilliant mixology is a side hustle.  As we went for brunch the list wasn’t extensive but he opened up the evening menu for us.  His approach is playful and scientific so he does a lot with infusions and essences - highly original. I had a Tomato cosmopolitan which was clear and savoury. Like an essence of a Bloody Mary - delicious and pure.  After brunch we went to the Shell Grotto (weird) and then the Turner Contemporary Gallery which was lovely with aspects out to the wind lashed grey sea.  There was a Gormley in the sea that looked so epic and isolated.

We then walked into Old Margate which was pretty and full of vintage gift shops.  Ate the most amazing ice-creams (stem ginger and marmelade) and then the team left and V and I spent the evening in our hotel. It poured with rain when I took the dog out and both he and I completely panicked and rushed back drenched.
