Daikon
Had a long and unexpectedly useful conversation on the phone re web domains, transferring, securing, etc. Then I went up Leith Walk for a few messages and in hopes of finding a daikon for a recipe I wanted to try. I was thinking the Chinese supermarkets were the most likely - but saw a display of monsters outside Polypak as I got off the bus. It was a bit unwieldy, as you see.
The recipe worked out very well - delicious, and very authentic from my memories of eating in Bangladesh. I was curious as to how it would work out with all the water that is incrementally added. Recipe here, for those interested. (I reduced the amount of chilli used, and it still packed a fair punch!)
