Bryant Park inManhattan
This is Bryant Park in Manhattan, looking southeast in mid-afternoon. In the left background is the New York Public Library, which faces 5th avenue; the park extends from the library to 6th Avenue, between 41st and 42nd St.
We were headed to our third museum of the day: the International Center of Photography (ICP), with exhibitions on Roman Vishniac and Chim (David Seymour)-excellent as always.
In the morning it was the Met, featuring an exhibition on impressionism and fashion (previously at the D'Orsay in Paris, where we missed it), plus an hour-long video called Street by James Nares--slow-motion scenes of pedestrians in New York City; if you're around you have to see it (before the close on May 27th). In between was the Frick Collection, with a small bur exquisite show on Piero della Francesca, a rare and wonderful artist.
