Parallel universe
There is another world here in the heart of my house
Where everything is the same, but shaped and coloured
In exotic and mysterious ways
It's the reflected world, the other place
Somewhere I've known since childhood
And sadly touched like a rainbowed glass
A place where my own shadow self
Disdains my company as too dull
A world that will not admit me
No matter how hard I plea or pine at the window
Although I sometimes think that when I die
The walls will dissolve to let me through
It is as if the parallel world is a veiled box
That I carry until it is ready for me to climb in
