One of those days ...

Around the back streets you can still find these little echoes of history.

Some of the buildings had reinforced cellars so that they could act as air raid shelters and could even support the weight of the building if it collapsed. They obviously had an emergency exit from the shelter in case of just such a collapse. At least the rescuers would know where the emergency exit was ... unless the building had collapsed... seeing as how the sign is painted on the wall.

Certain lack of logic methinks, although compared to some of the people i have had to deal with today it seems almost genius.
