Bertie

Visited the Flicka Donkey Sanctuary today. Almost a hundred donkeys are looked after there. Amazing work is done to keep them all fit, healthy and comfortable.
The brown long-haired donkey in the Blip is Vagabond D'Hamerton - Bertie. He is a rare breed - the Baudet du Poitou - thought to be one of the oldest in the world. Bertie himself is 15 years old and 15 hands high! He came from a zoo and heart-breakingly, he lost his little brother Humphrey in 2020. However, he is now completely besotted with Hermione and Doris (two of the smallest donkeys at Flicka) who helped him cope with his sad loss.
