Fine day for a send-off
My friend GS' cremation was held today at Westerleigh. By request, only her daughter G and her friend SA attended.
Afterwards, G held a tea party at the restaurant at Ruskin Mill, outside Nailsworth, a place that she an her mother used to visit often. There's a beautiful lake, but it was looking green and stinky today. Up on the balcony, though, we could have been in Tuscany, surrounded by vines and sunshine.
G took the photo. I'm the scowling one. I am not what you'd call photogenic. Some in the photo are WEA friends or class members, others from different areas of GS' life. We all miss her dreadfully.
Afterwards, another G, who had given me a lift, and I went to the garden centre to buy some horrible work trousers for me, because they were in the sale, and some nice tops for her, because she's going to Spain. I also bought a bird feeder that I'm going to have to take back because the screws are rusted.
Then I went to set up my market stall in Stroud, and afterwards to Buddhist meditation. Much needed!
Wonderful tea interlude at the mill! Still one more tea to go, the one I'm organising in town for GS next week.
