Baby Cabbage Trees….

Cabbage trees, aka Cordyline Australis or Te Kouka is an endemic New Zealand tree which grows very easily and looks best in open spaces or amongst native forest. Cabbage trees have been planted along the banks of the Taylor River and many are very attractive. This image shows off young cabbage trees growing on the grassy riverbank over the river from where Maisie and I were walking early this morning…. The mountains in the far distance are part of the Richmond Range.
