Almost boosted

I head to Penicuik for a booster/flu appointment. They are relating the road to the clinic (YMCA/YWCA), but that doesn’t faze me.

At registration I’m told that this clinic is only vaccinating over-65s - over-50s will be sent a letter of invitation later in the month. I explain that is followed the instructions on the NHS Scotland website. She tells me that I’m not the first, but the problem is with NHS IT and I’ll have to wait for my letter.

I head out the door, back to the car. I’m almost away when I hear someone calling me. It the woman from the clinic. The supervisor has overheard our conversation and has decided to make an exception for me. I duly received my booster and flu jabs and headed back home for a departmental all-hands.

Later on, I remove the three double glazing units from the large living room windows that got taken out some time ago. Now it’s ready for storage.
