Elephant garlic cloves to grow for next year and some corms(baby elephant garlic) for the year after that, if I don't kill them first! They aren't all for my plot. One of the advantages of the allotment WhatsApp group is that we can plot together to buy and share things, which usually works out cheaper for us all. Just as well as the price of elephant garlic seems to have doubled!! I found these on Etsy from the Cornish Garlic Co at half the price found anywhere else.
I like to support Cornish firms as my mum was raised there after being born in Yorkshire, so doubly blessed.
As well as picking tomatoes and runner beans this evening, I also dug up the blue potatoes - not a huge crop on these, but enough for a meal to taste them. I also put some wire mesh over the saffron bed as there was evidence of some digging!
Day 2 of not buying any more plants etc passed successfully until I saw this in the co-op. Oops. Start again tomorrow.
