Cheer up, sleepy grebe

An incredibly frustrating day today, filled with things going wrong and people being annoying. I came home so irritated that I had to go for a walk to calm my nerves - a very rare thing for a normally placid person.

Luckily our nearby lake is a perfect escape. I sat and read, and watched these grebes settling in for bed. My new(ish) camera is much better at getting decent photos of these shy birds.

Now feeling a lot calmer, though drained. Thank goodness for books and nature.
