Nicky and her Nikon

Geranium

This morning as I was about to have breakfast I received a text from a neighbour who I have met a few times, inviting me to join her on her dog walk this morning. As we both walk our dogs in the same woods at the bottom of our road it made sense to walk together. She has one large labradoodle and two tiny white dogs - Xena does not like tiny dogs as they are usually aggressive...these little white dogs were initially very aggressive, Xena looked so uncomfortable with her hair all raised and cowering with this tiny thing snapping at her heels. Eventually the tiny dogs settled down and we enjoyed our walk as the dogs all played together. We did a long walk, about 1 hour 45 mins, and we walked very quickly.

I then managed to get some grocery shopping done. I always go to Waitrose but lately they are having such supply problems, there are always many items (particularly of fresh produce) unavailable, and the quality of fruit and veggies has definitely deteriorated since Brexit/Ukraine war/hot and dry summer. I have given up on blueberries now as they are always squishy and taste awful, and carrots look like reject produce. One good thing is that they have stopped putting sell by dates on many fruit and veg as it was leading to too much food waste.

I had a quick lunch as I had an appointment at the dentist at 1.30pm, an appointment I have been dreading. After my check up in July, the dentist noticed that one of my upper molars was cracked and so recommended getting the filling replaced to strengthen the cracked tooth, rather than leaving it until the tooth breaks off when eating something hard. It was a very long appointment, I was in the chair for an hour and 15 minutes while she drilled out the old filling, and as expected the cracked part of the tooth cusp broke off, and then she had to refill it including the broken off part. She is an excellent dentist and while I felt no pain, of course you hear the drill and feel the pressure of it. Now, five hours later my mouth is still a little numb and I don't know how I can eat supper tonight. Thank goodness its all over, although I have been recommended to get a crown placed over it at my next appointment....not just yet though.

The geraniums are still blooming in our garden - they sure are value for money as they provide colour for months and months.
