Above And Beyond...

The School Run

We had granddaughter Amelia staying overnight and as she is now in school 9am to 3.30pm each day, we had the job of getting up early to take her there.

It's a half hour drive from our house through some stunning countryside; just after passing Raglan castle (South Wales, UK) we spotted a hot air balloon in the sky and on our route I pulled over for us all to get a good look at it. It must have been a sunrise flight and I'd guess they'd had ideal conditions.

As Amelia was out of the car in her school uniform, I got her to pose which she was more than happy to do. We had a cuddle off her at the school gate before she went in - more emotional than with our own children when they were that age!

Midday we set off for the 55 minute drive to Hay On Wye (South Wales) and enjoyed a couple of hours walking around this delightful town. It was Covid restrictions last time we were there so nice to see it back to normal.

On the way home, we stopped off at a furniture store in Wormelow to have a browse: Turned out to be an expensive browse - we'll just leave it at that!
