To the rescue

This was not quite what we had in mind when we set off this afternoon. We are used to our plans going awry . . . but not five minutes after setting off!

Driving through Hythe and we realised we had a flat tyre. Gordon managed to turn into a side street and park up. We have a spare tyre, or at least a temporary one, but I wouldn't let Gordon even try to change it himself. Called the RAC and, although we were given a 3 hour callout time, this guy arrived in less than half an hour. He efficiently fixed it, although being a French car this was not as straightforward as it might have been.

Temporary tyre on, we set out for Folkestone which is not far away and a Tyre place where Gordon had found they had the right tyre in stock. An hour or so later (I had a book with me), with a new tyre and a large amount of cash handed over, we were on our way back to Hythe.

A nice little outing - not quite what we had in mind, but these things happen.

A lovely day - quite a few swimmers this morning, just as the sun was rising and the fishing boats were coming in.
