Last rose of summer

This is indeed the last rose in our garden this year and decaying beautifully. I haven't had much time to take photographs today as it has been a family day watching the funeral of Queen Elizabeth when photography was the last thing on my mind. It is hard to believe how such a wonderful tribute to the Queen could be organised in such a short time, even with pre-planning.  So many people have said that it reminded them of when a relative of theirs who had died. I was caught out by the massed pipe band playing Speed Bonnie Boat as a piper played it as my mum's funeral.  
I took the image in the early evening light and thought it quite appropriate for today.
