The End of Polinations
I woke early and given that most places would be closed today I thought I might just get the chance to capture an image of the Polinations installation in Birmingham (It closed last night). It took just 20 minutes to get in, a record for a Monday morning, and I was quickly in position to put the drone up for an aerial image.
It was just as well as 10 minutes later, at 6.00 am, the lights went out on the installation and the whole atmosphere of the square changed.
I did take a walk around the city and was quite surprised at how busy it was, from beer deliveries, to a small group of revellers who looked as though they'd been on a stag do. I headed back home only to miss the sky to the east colour up at sunrise for a brief time.
The day was dominated by the Queen's funeral. We watched on and off throughout the day. The pomp and circumstance of such occasions is often mimicked, particularly by authoritarian states, but nothing quite matches the precision of our armed services and the hundreds of thousands of the public who turned out without any coercion to say farewell.
