Lucca

I took the bus into Lucca today to see the famous Tuscan walled town.
My trip did not get off to the best of starts as I got fined by the traffic police for failing to validate my paper ticket. This was not intentional - I just couldn’t work out how to do it ( you had to fold the ticket in half I later found out to put it in the machine). My protestations came to nothing. 60 Euro fine.
Lucca was pretty but hot and busy. I enjoyed walking round the wall, climbing a tower with a garden on top , and visiting Puccini’s birthplace - now a museum.
