I can remember my mum taking me and my sister here regularly. We had to take off our shoes and sit on a chair mounted on a platform to be weighed. The 'official' then wrote down our weight on a little ticket. I think it cost about 2d. It is pleasantly surprising to see that it is still there, a part of our history, though the price and my weight are both considerably greater now.
