We had the pleasure of meeting again A, Mr Flum's first-cousin-once-removed, this afternoon. We first met at a family wedding last month, she comes from Papua New Guinea and is in this country for a few years to study and came up for the weekend, with Miss Flum as her guide.

After lunch she stated that she had been told to see the sea so we jumped in the car for a stroll at Portobello. Having examined the two bottle kilns we braved the beach in strong and distinctly chilly breeze, which was whipping up the waves, then headed back for a meal before taking her to Waverley for her return to cousin R in the north of England.
