Well Court, Dean Village

This morning I took a jog along the Water of Leith from Roseburn to the Stockbridge colonies turning back to Inverleith Park to enjoy the view over the pond to the city skyline. Lots of people were out enjoying the lovely sunny morning.

Dean Village is one of the many beautiful places along this route.  Well Court (red sand stone building on the right) was commissioned in the 1880s by Sir John Findlay, the then owner of The Scotsman newspaper.  It's a rare example of an Arts and Crafts building in Edinburgh. The accomodation was originally intended for workers in the Dean Village.  A major restoration was undertaken in 2007.
