Visiting the Queen
We caught the Dales bus to Pateley Bridge intending to go for a walk but as we arrived we realised it was Nidderdale Country Show which had moved dates because of tomorrow’s national event.
We decided to stay on the bus to Scar House ( the route’s destination) and upon arriving saw the dark clouds and decided to come home again!
So the bus pass took us on a 50 mile plus free journey.
Noticed the reservoirs were still alarmingly low, see extra.
Getting back to Otley l said we should walk back home to our village, about three miles and Elaine , ever obliging agreed.
We had a couple of hours in the conservatory doing our own thing ( blip for me and embroider for Elaine) then got freshened up to go to The Queens for a Sunday roast.
All the times we have eaten there l’ve never noticed that there are portraits of both Queen Elizabeth’s and one of Queen Victoria. Our booth was under Elizabeth ll so we had our photograph taken by our lovely waitress.
Food and drink up to the usual standard and we celebrated the loss of S ( Elaine’s husband) five years ago with a liquor coffee.
