Sally Mair - Loving life

Joan's Nerine

The first nerine of the year are in flower and it looks like there's going to be a good display this year. I thought it seemed early but perhaps not as I've several years of blips of the whole clump in bloom in early October.
Not an eventful day today, I may have overdone it yesterday. The children are home though, Katy from her conference in Rome - which she was visiting for the first time. Stuart from Spain where he had been stuck for an extra two days after his flight was cancelled on Friday due to the French ATC strike. Normally that would have been very nice but he'd been with a larger group for whom he had some responsibility to had to find flights and accommodation for them all. He got home at 4. 30am. I'm sure Josie will have been very happy to see her daddy again....not to mention Josie's mum!
Colin took advantage of Tesco selling off all their flowers at rock bottom prices today due to tomorrow's closure. He came home with an armful of lovely bargain blooms.
