A kite
festival and an explore of a different part of town was what we got up to today. An old airport has been turned into a public park which was full of people and kites of all shapes and sizes. They were flown by folk of all ages and abilities. It was great to see people out doing something for free in a public space.
Spotted this later and was reminded of All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque. Nobody profits from war unless they are selling weapons or circling vulture like to size an opportunity to prey on the vulnerable.
