Here there and everywhere

Merce and Ferran

Nice to spend time with our next-door neighbours and friends again and the first time since the start of the pandemic.  We went to Bar Azul again, next to the old Modelo.  Good food and catch up on the restaurant terrace.

I spent the rest of the day working on writing test items for my portfolio for the course I'm doing.  Just after I'd uploaded them onto the platform, I read the email sent from one of the educators saying that there was a problem with the online tool we'd been told we had to use for checking the level and frequency of words. Aagh!!  I deleted them from my online portfolio. I was surprised a few times with the frequency and level combination, but given that one of the strict specifications is to only use words from a specified list, I didn't trust my intuition because if everyone did that the tests would neither be reliable nor valid.  Not to mention that I wouldn't pass the first assignment!  Sure enough, when I checked my words used, (from new lists now provided) which should have all been from the K3 list, they were showing from lists K1 to K4 :-(   Back to the drawing board and was tired and frustrated by that time. You'd think that the main tool would have been checked by the educating team, wouldn't you?  At least one other participant had been on the discussion forum expressing concern and had spent all day writing just one of the four required tests.  The deadline has now been extended by 24 hours, but I'd paced myself to submit it on Saturday, a day ahead of the deadline.
