Every time I visit Shrewsbury I like to head out to this English Heritage site about 8 miles north of Shrewsbury.
The ruins of a medieval castle and Tudor manor house, badly damaged in the Civil war.
Feels almost like a film set - very dramatic and a great place for a picnic ....if only the pig farm wasn't across the road!
