AT THE MATCH

Newcastle were playing at home this afternoon against Bournemoth - 3pm kick off.  I set off in good time to catch a bus at 1.20pm.  However it didn't turn up.  So I walked round the corner to catch another bus  - that one was 30 mins late.

I got to my seat in the ground with 5 mins to spare.  At least I didn't miss the minutes silence before kick off and singing the National Anthem.  Im pleased to say that the silence was well observed.  The blip shot on the left shows  Newcastle player Bruno Guimarães with one of the mascots and Amanda Staveley one of the owners of the club - and the two wreaths which were laid on the pitch.  The other photo shows a tribute to the Queen which appeared on the hoardings around the pitch.

The match was a disappointment.  Newcastle were poor.  The score at half time was 0 - 0.  In the second half Bournemouth scored first on the 62nd minute but fortunately Newcastle were awarded a penalty and Isak put the ball into the net on the 67th minute.  On the 70th minute all the crowd began clapping to mark 70 years of the Queens reign.

I popped into Waitrose after the match and then went to get a bus home.  You won't be surprised if I tell you it didn't turn up.  The next one wasn't due for another 30 mins so I walked across town to try and get a different bus.  I waited nearly 45 mins at the stop before a bus home finally turned up. So frustrating.  The bus company Go North East just can't seem to provide a reliable service these days.

Ive had a quiet evening watching TV - The Masked Dancer, The Voice and Millionnaire.  Easy viewing.

Hope I sleep tonight as Ive got my endoscopy to face tomorrow afternoon. No idea how it will go but I hope I manage to stay relaxed and get through it.  The taxi company have confirmed the pick up time so at least I don't have to worry about transport.
