Cuts

9.9C and bright, with a thin layer of cloud. Windy on the shore.

I dug over the little circular flower bed in one of the back lawns this morning. The one I had sprayed with weedkiller on Sunday. Thats it all ready for planting up. I expect it will have sweet peas again, although we haven't bought plants yet.

After lunch Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk. Usual route. Nothing happening in the fields today. Down on the beach we met a lady with a Red Setter and a Spaniel of some sort. Maeve stopped to have a nose to nose sniff with the Spaniel while the Setter bounced around off the lead as they tend to do :-)

We wandered along down on the firm damp sand as the tide was out. In the piles of shells and stones left by the last tide I looked for very small pieces of Sea Glass. Its a good excuse to wander along slowly. Maeve likes slowly. Sometimes I think she would be happier with standing still.

We had seen the two boats out on the sea early this morning. They were sitting beached on the sand this afternoon. Up by the creel rack I found this faded float with a pattern of deep cuts. My assistant thought it might be just the thing to blip.
