History repeating itself …

My native Gaelic speaking paternal grandfather who fought for The British Empire in WW1 gave me this book when I was the age our eldest grandson is now. The book is called ‘A Nursery History of England’ yes England! These pictures were etched on my young mind. They are replaying tonight in 2022 in Westminster Hall as I write. This book is one of my most treasured possessions!
A Review of the book says Delightful book which takes us through the history of England from prehistoric times up until the reign of George V. The text is simple but informative, and the many gorgeous illustrations by George Morrow make the book outstanding. My review refers to the original edition, I understand there is an inferior modern reprint which is not as good, so I would suggest looking out for the original if you can.
