Botanic Gardens
It takes no time to get to the Botanic Gardens from our flat!
We hadn't actually walked through here since we completely moved in. Last time we were here we saw 3 or 4 police cars driving on the paths because a woman got attacked by some men who she knew. Not exactly a sight you want to see.
We finally got more information from the letting agent regarding the problems with the flat. The extractor fan issue isn't exclusive to us as it seems to be a problem for many of the tenants. Basically, it's not an issue with our bathroom, it's an issue with the building's system. Obviously a bigger and more complicated problem than we thought, but we now know they're not going to require access to our flat. The windows have been sealed shut due to work that was done to them while we were away which will get sorted soon, and the socket that caused the power to trip (also referred to as the "naughty socket" by R) has been well behaved.
Now we know R won't get any surprise visits if I'm away, I can book flights to England and back. I was actually supposed to book them tonight and writing this post has only now made me remember.
We saw a woman doing a terrible job of parking this morning. She attempted to parallel park down our road and stopped with her almost kissing the car in front. She got out, realised how close she was, and got back in. Then she reversed and stopped while her rear was almost kissing the car behind! Next, she reversed further and hit the car behind TWICE!
Finally, she managed to get her car kind of in the middle (although still a little close to the car in front) and spent the next five minutes doing her make-up. She got out and then looked at the back of her car to check for damage and didn't even glance at the one she hit! When I went out I took a look and fortunately there was no damage.
Unbelievable!
