Sedbergh Bookclub

Quite a challenging read. A lot of the group didn’t finish it. The story of a black girl for whom nearly everything goes wrong and she is on the path to self destruction. With some wholly dreadful male characters to her utterly delightful grandparents and her grounded female friends, she finally gets some professional help.
I nearly gave up on it, but persevered, and I think I’m glad I did.
We also had a visit from the local planning officer.
