A bit different

I suppose it is to be expected that the local art centre would paint one of the old doors in an unusual way.
The house is very old and the surrounds match it.  Green Gym made a big clearing in part of the dried out moat to enable professionals to get access to coppice an overgrown willow.  They didn't want to have to pay them to clear what must be decades of undergrowth. As it was in the moat, everything was at a 45 degree angle.  Good test for calf muscles!  Amazing what a difference a group of people can make in 3 hours.  Everyone has their own pet jobs, mainly the men chop and the women clear (not always the case).
One of our group brought a car boot full of surplus apples.  We had been forewarned and took bags with us to help ourselves to the booty (apologies - couldn't resist saying that)
