Ladybird shelter.
The Globe Thistles have finished flowering and the bees have disappeared and they are looking very bedraggled- not what Mrs AMK likes to see in the garden ! She asked me to chop them down but I pointed out that many of them have become a place of shelter for one or two ladybirds presumably planning to overwinter there. These flower heads may need to be carefully relocated to a sheltered spot and not the compost bin - we do need ladybirds to keep down some of the bugs .
No blip yesterday - it was a sad day with the funeral of Ted, one of our golfers and the owner of Midge the fabulous little working cocker that I have blipped several times on the golf course. I called into his house a few days ago and got such a welcome from Midge - it was quite sad as she is still looking for her master. She would always jump out of his car and come running to each of us to be patted.
