Went to the Botanic gardens today. Lovely tranquil place in the grounds of one of the old manor houses. Blip is of a SouthernMagnolia- at least that’s what someone told us (no label). Had a nice walk round and caught the bus back to town. Had a jersey cream tea for a late lunch, a quick mooch around a very traditional department store and then got the bus back to the hotel. Walked down to town for dinner at Aromas- delicious monk fish. Taxi driver who drove us back up the hill was aJerseyman so able to tell me exactly where the hotel was where I spent several childhood holidays. It was knocked down in the 1990’s and replaced with luxury flats
