Mayor's Grand Prize

May Day is Lei Day in Hawaii . . . This lei won grand prize; it's composed of mangrove seeds and tiare gardenia caylix, strung to resemble a tattoo pattern. The brilliant monstera and ti leaves give it pride of place. It is stunning. It was a hot, bright sun, flowers everywhere kind of day, people meeting and greeting, food vendors, demonstrations, presentation of the Lei Queen and her court. Thank goodness a breeze sprung up to cool a little. Happy May 1st!
