Day 120 of 365 - Kirby House!
Welcome to day 120 of 365 (Finished image after Editing)
The original photo was taken late this afternoon. It is of Kirby House. The building which is now owned by Coventry Citizens Advice Bureau, is one of only Three remaining Georgian Townhouses in Coventry. The others are Number 7 Little Park Street and Number 11 Priory Row (St Michael's House). While most of the surrounding buildings were destroyed during the Blitz on Coventry, Kirby House only suffered slight damage. The name 'Kirby House' dates back to 1874 when Thomas Hulston Kirby bought the house.
The building is is a Grade II* Listed building and is number 5 on my list of 24 (Grade II*) Listed buildings in Coventry that I hope to photograph.
As always the shot was taken with my iPhone 5. The photo was taken using the camera App KitCam for iPhone and saved as a TIFF file before any editing. The original image can be found here: Unedited original Image.
First of all I used the editing features of KitCam to edit the image. The edits were made by cropping and straightening the photo. I then applied the Clarify filter and added a vignette with the Blowout lens, I also added some local brightness to the house with the Honey Bee film. Next I used an App called Distressed FX to add extra texture to the image using the Cole overlay and the Cedar Texture. Finally I passed the image through an App called Alt Photo using the Expired (Pink highlights) Toy Camera filter.
