Rethink

I am reading this book edited by Amol Rajan. It is a collection of short essays (each only 2 to 4 pages long) written during lockdown. It is divided into sections each considering a different issue. Reading one or two at time gives time to absorb and reflect on the ideas. In some ways it already feels a little dated, not because the ideas are no longer relevant but because other events have intervened and push some ideas aside and reasserted the 'old normal'. When will we ever learn?
Good progress today with the roofing, with the joists replaced without taking the ceiling down. It will still require re-skimming but has saved a lot of mess and reduced further work and they should finish everything by Friday. Great workers who take pride in their skills and in delivering a good job.
Also, despite all the banging and interruptions I managed to put a score into Musescore and transpose it for different instruments for the first time.
