Jude and hpx

We've had a happy day. Kilometres interspersed with lots of laughs, photo stops, coffees, watching people zipline and bungee jump, and eating.

With the sun it soon warmed up. The breeze was cool and mostly at our tail.

I spotted a sign for the 45th parallel. Being a woman who loves maps we had to stop, read the info sign and have a photo or 3.

The 45th parallel is theoretically half way between the equator and the south pole. The earth isn't perfectly round so the true halfway point is some 11k away.

That's nowhere near as romantic or interesting as the 45th parallel. I'll stick with it.

The down moment today was a car coming towards us in the support vehicle. It took a bend in the Kawarau gorge too fast and crossed the centre line. Another 50m down the road and it would have been head on. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Today's gratitude: For a near perfect day.
