Morning swim

Such a gorgeous beach and today a gorgeous day to go with it. I chatted with the other swimmers a bit, top start to the day.

Our morning outing was to Clonakilty, with a brief stop to wander round the ruins of Timoleague Abbey. Very tiny doorways and lots of graves, some of them just from the last couple of years. Imagine getting buried in a 13th century abbey, very fancy. Clonakilty is Michael Collins territory, we had a tour of his museum house - museums have a lifelong effect on me of draining me of all my mental energy. I tend to be happiest in the shop and cafe. This one didn’t have a cafe and the shop was a little limited. Nice house, some interesting reading but the quiet slow filing round of people drives me a bit mad. How shallow am I??!

A nice egg sandwich in a non-museum cafe then an unexpected extra rural drive home after I missed a turning. I do love a single track road with grass growing down the middle. A sit down with books for a bit and then set forth for our evening adventure which included a pub and a restaurant for one of the very tastiest meals I have had in a long time. Was ever so very lovely with Irish coffees to finish. We are off to see family on Friday, another thing I am not good at is knowing / paying attention to people I don’t know so I interrogated my mum enabling enough information to draw a family tree so now I have everyone sorted. Apparently it will be fine to present my back of a napkin sketchings to fill in a couple of gaps on Friday. Am not very sure! Anyway, v good evening. Tomorrow is transfer day, Kinsale has been lovely.
